Chuck;
Count me in for $25.  I'll get it in the mail by this weekend.
Fondly,
Marsha and Jack

Howdy all

We're still working things out but making good progress.  Turns out that one of our owners, Mike Morano, lives about 25 minutes from them.  Mike has two of our Labs and his parents have another one.  Mike is taking his Labs over today for the children to interact with.  While there he will be able to assess the situation and we'll proceed from there.  Mike is a thoughtful, responsible, owner and a very good trainer.  He has volunteered to receive our "Water Witch" (3 yr. old white female we are giving to the family) and complete her training as well as oversee her welfare with the family.  Mike has always been one of the "Good Guys" with us and we're proud to have him as a friend!

I had a talk with the sister this morning. (Shirley-from the first email about Coulee Creek's Kate and Pat Dickinson)  What those people are going through back there is incredible.  When I told her how many of you had volunteered to help she broke down.  She told me, "Everything here was one disaster after another.  Our life had disintegrated and all was so dismal.  Meeting Pat and her Lab had such a calming influence on my sister and children, I had to write you.  When I received your answer offering us one of your Labs and help and hope, it was like a light in the darkness.  The obvious love and kindness of you and Mary Anne and that wonderful group of owners you have is overwhelming."  Needless to say, she and I were both in tears by the time we said goodbye.

A note; Several owners have called to inquire about The Delta Society.  This is the organization Pat belongs to and trains with.  They are a great outfit and their website is;
http://deltasociety.org

We appreciate the donations from those who have and welcome them from any who wish to.  All funds will go to this family and their new Lab from "The Coulee Creek Family".  We're proud of you.

Next update after Mike makes his visit and we decide just how to proceed.

Warm regards,

Chuck and Mary Anne Roland

Hello Chuck, Mary Anne, Michael and everyone on Chuck's distribution list:

We, (Blanca, Allison (7), Jacob (4) and Shirley) would like to express our sincere gratitude for all that you have done for us. On Sept 11, 2001 Allison, Jacob and Blanca's world was changed forever. Eric, a person with a heart of gold, worked for the company Cantor Fitzgerald, 105th floor. The last time my sister heard from him was at 8:15 that morning to wish Allie and Jacob to have a good day. At 8:45 am tower 1 was hit. My sister was dropping off the kids for school while she heard the news on the radio. She immediately called us to let us know what was going on. We watched in horror the devastation that had struck these buildings and the occupants. We held hope for Eric, we knew he would get out and help others get out. Just as tower 1 was hit we were astonished to see Tower 2 get hit. The worst was when nightfall came upon us and the hours just kept getting longer and longer without any word.

One of our updates to our Coulee Creek Family mailing list.
