What it is all about…… Bringing a smile……  Allison, Jacob, their mom and the nearest member of our "Family" to them,  Mike Morano.  Mike was invaluable in making this all work.  He met the dog at the airport, kept her at his home for final training, and generally made everything there fit together.

and met "Kate" at the WTC site.  (Enclosed Shirley's original email.)

We responded with an offer of a 3 year old yellow female that is closely related to Kate.  Coulee Creek is donating the dog to the family but as you know, since our accident and my quadraplegia, funds are tight.  I've contacted Iams and they are donating a years supply of Eukanuba.  Some of our owners have chipped in for a crate and Vet expenses and shipping.  We came up a little short and wondered if ASA and Delta would like to join this effort by providing shipping.  I know Newark is an American hub but as you have been our favorite carrier for Coulee Creek puppies the past 9 years, thought we would approach you first.  These are nice folks who have suffered and we're trying to do our part to help.

Warm regards,

Chuck Roland

Mr. Roland,

Final approval received from Delta this morning.  Please try to give me 24hrs notice prior to shipping, and of course, all the usual shipping requirements apply.

Let me know if there is anything else I can assist with.

Chuck,

My uncle, Dawn's Dad, has many contractor contacts and construction supplier contacts in the Holmdel area.  Let's see is he can get something in the kitty on the fence maybe some free labor.  We'll talk tonight about upping our pledge.

Mike

Many of our "Family" have begun corresponding with Shirley and our adopted Family.  (See below)

HI, Shirley

This is Trudy and Russ Slean from Naples, Florida.  We're part of the Coulee Creek Family. (we have Bell's son Marley, black lab and our son has Baylor, also Black lab from CC along with a blond lab, Kevlar).  Just wanted to let you, Blanca, Ally and Jacob know our heartfelt bittersweet mix of emotions for all of you.  We keep your family, along with the thousands of others, in our prayers each day.  There is no way to quantify the healing power of a CC LAB, but we're certain that Chuck and Mary Anne put at least 50-75% Guardian Angel ingredients with every dog they breed.  God Bless You, with Love, hugs, wags and licks from all of us here in Naples.

P.S.  The photos were GREAT!!!!!!  Keep us updated.

Shirley and son Erick  are part of the welcoming committee at Newark, NJ Airport.

Allison and Star getting acquainted.

We now had a Lab, crate, transportation, and a promise of food.  Our biggest concern was to assure the safety of the dog.  Ron and Kathy Leh donated an Invisible Fence System and training for the dog.  All that was left was a kennel to put her in when she wasn't with the family.  Mike Wald (right) has relatives in the area and sent this email.  We were put in touch with Taylor Fence Company of Howell, NJ.  These are VERY NICE FOLKS and when Chuck explained what we were doing, they donated a 6' x 12' quality kennel and set it up at Blanca's home. Ron Leh with Blanca and Star and Kathy Leh with Star.  Ron and Kathy flew to NJ to meet the Lab and family and make arrangements for the fence system they donated.
